Ben & Andrea Tidswell
Remarkable wines are like remarkable families - shaped by heritage, brimming with character and enhanced by the occasional welcome surprise.
Since 1853, the Tidswell family has been filling the glasses of an enthusiastic clientele, with five generations of publicans, tavern-keepers and winemakers gracing the family tree. The first licence was held by William Tidswell at the 'Oddfellows Arms' in Gilles Street, Adelaide. It's a clan that can indeed boast its share of rascals and notables, each as rich and vibrant as the remarkable wines that bear their family name.
Today, under the watch of Ben and Andrea Tidswell, the tradition continues, although as winemakers instead of publicans, with each wine reflecting the people and places that have helped forge that tradition.
A a commitment to sustainable environmental management, Tidswell Wines is a fully certified member of ENTwine, the Winemaker's Federation of Australia environmental sustainability program. The winemaking is overseen by Ben and experienced winemaker, Joanne Irvine, of Winewise Consultancy.
From the refined elegance of the Jennifer, and the distinctively tantalising Heathfield range, to the ever-approachable Publican Series, Tidswell Wines captures the essence of family - its kinship, its home and its heritage - to craft wines that are as much about style as they are about enjoyment.
